Glossary

Lateral Motion : In and out motion of the men; Along the Y Axis.
Rotational Motion : The spinning motion of the men.
Automated Rods : The table element to which the men and handles are attached to and are controlled by the logic control unit.
Opponent Rods : The table element to which the men and handles are attached and are controlled by the human player.
Automated men: Foosball men (figures) controlled by the Logic Control Unit and Motors.
Opponent men : Foosball men (figures) controlled by the human.
Human Opponent : The human person conrolling the Opponent Men.
Logic Control Unit : Computer; Microcontroller; Software
Machine Vision : Camera device used to track the ball motion
Laser Matrix : Laser tracking unit which consists of X-Axis .and Y-Axis lasers
Type I Foosball Table : slanted corners, 1-2-5-3.
Type II Foosball Table : 3-2-5-3
X-Axis : The length of a foosball table (48 in.).
Y-Axis : The width of a foosball table (27 in.).
chord : The width of the ball where the laser strikes.
Bumper : The rubber elements on the rods on the outside of the distal men which help shield the men and cabinet from impacts due to rod motion.
PLD : Programmable Logic Device.
PLCC : Plastic Leadless Chip Carrier.
Laser Glow : The scattering of light around a laser beam. Laser glow is bad.
CNC : Computer Numerically Controlled.
